Delia Smith: The Reply

Not a reply from Delia herself but surely this is the next best thing! Jane tries to help, even offering up some advice as to where I might find the information from. Sadly though, as with those that have gone before her, she doesn't actually know the answer

Thank you for your letter to Delia Smith, which has been forwarded to me from New Crane Ltd.

Delia sold her publishing company earlier this year and closed her personal office. Regarding your request in trying to find the origins of toad-in-the-hole, I have asked Delia's Food Editor who sadly cannot help, although would love to know the answer! There is a specialised bookshop called Books for Cooks who may just be able to help.
